The Opera Dual Roller Decorative Solar shade offers a variety of luxurious 7% solar fabrics of premium quality, comes in varying in openness and is ideally suited for any room. The dual roller system enables you to have two blinds in one. A light filtering solar panel to cut glare and provide a level of visibility and a blackout panel to create a room darkening effect.

Our shades have up to an additional 12 inches of fabric in height in order to conceal the roller tube
Minimum depth required for inside mount: 1 3/4”
Minimum distance required for installation on the ceiling: 2”
Inside mount installation: do not make any deductions. The manufacturer will be sure to deduct for a perfect fit. The width of the fabric will be approximately 1/2’’ less than the actual measurement to account for the roller mechanism.
Outside mount installation: the width of the valance will be the measurement provided in your order and the fabric will be approximately 5/8” less on each side. If, for example, the space to be covered is 60”, it is recommended to order 64” (being an additional 2” on each side) to ensure that the entire frame is covered, avoiding any gaps that would allow the light to shine through.

If allowed, this review would between 3 and 4, with most of the deductions being for customer service oriented issues. First I will cover the good:
-The mechanism seems good, the dual opera shades work as intended and they solve a problem with having 2 blinds in one cassette.
-The colour is good and close to what we pictured, we ordered a sample, but it is so hard to tell from a little square that they send.
-We ordered the mechanized wand (bluetooth) option for motorization. I did this for 2 reasons, I did not want another remote lying around and the cost associated with moving up to the wifi hub seemed implausible, there was no way that should have been that much more. Another reason is with the motorized wand, you could control the blind by just walking up to the window, which you may do depending on how close the window is. If you need the remote or your phone, this option might not be available or it would be cumbersome.
-The battery life has been very good, I have the blackout roller closing and opening everyday on schedule, and so far after 4 months, the battery has hardly moved. I would have no hesitation ordering another battery operated mechanism. The solar was not available when I ordered mind you.
The not so good:
-Using the webpage was so so, it is not as easy to understand as other websites, especially if you are ordering multiple items.
-With the power wands, the website will ask you which side you want the controls on, I called in to ensure that the controls were one on each side, as the website only lets you choose either right or left, not right and left. When speaking to the employee, she was adamant that one will be on each side as this is automatically done when ordering the dual opera shade. Well….you guessed it, both controls are on the one side, and the wrong side at that if I were to put them on one side. I called back and there was never any acknowledgement of their error, only the option for me to pack everything back up and send them back so they could change them. This was not an option as we had no window coverings for so long and had removed the bedsheets already when these arrived. This is a glaring oversight and really ruined our purchasing experience with this company. I checked with the manufacturer and the blinds were ordered with both controls on one side by this company.
-We had an issue with 2 of our motorized blinds making a squeaking sound, so the company was good about that and had a local technician come to the house and replace a simple plastic wheel part. I did not understand why the wands could not have been changed at that point as well. It was very confusing that they would send a technician out for a squeak but not to fix their error on wand placement.
-After I placed the order, I emailed the company and confirmed what I ordered, wands on each side etc., and asked for a reply to confirm what I said was correct, as this was a large financial outlay and I wanted to ensure accuracy. I never received a response to that email.
-Wires. So with both wands on one side, all the wires associated with the motorization, the wands and hookups are on one side. Wires are basically everywhere just hanging from this side. I called the company and they suggested i just push them up somehow lol. This is an oversight, there should be something included that houses all these wires and the bluetooth receivers instead of them just hanging there.
-The app is so basic. Easy to use but not robust. You can set a schedule for the blinds to open and close but you cannot set it to sunset and sunrise, so every couple of weeks you have to change the time to match the everchanging sunset and sunrise. Other apps say sunset/sunrise and the time changes accordingly.
At the end of all this, the blinds to what they were intended and the motorization can make your life easier. With some fine tuning and increased attention to after the sale customer service, I think this would be a good value option. We have had some fairly substantial issues arise that were just not dealt with appropriately, but the blinds are good for what they are.
